Episode 02 // The plan

How to plan an anime PC build in five steps

Choosing an anime PC case is about more than artwork. It also needs enough space and cooling for the hardware inside.

  1. EVA-02 Asuka themed ASUS ROG Hyperion PC case with plugsuit art on the glass

    Pick the series first

The theme decides the case, the colours and the parts that will show through the glass. Choose the character you will still want on your desk in three years, then shop around it.

  2. Inside view of the EVA-02 Jonsbo MOD 5 case showing open frame mounting space

    Check motherboard and GPU fit

Match the case to your board size and graphics card length before anything else. Our MOD 5 cases take ATX and GPUs up to 400mm on the EVA-02 listing, MOD 3 takes E-ATX, and the GR701 fits cards up to 460mm.

  3. Unicorn Gundam MOD 5 build with RGB liquid cooling visible through the panels

    Plan cooling early

Decide on air or liquid while the case is still in your cart. MOD 5 has room for two 360mm radiators plus a 240mm, MOD 3 takes a 240mm or 360mm, and the GR701 takes up to 420mm front and top.

  4. Gundam MOD 3 case fitted with display components, shown with the side open

Budget for what is not in the box

Jonsbo themed cases are sold as the case only, with no fans or components. Parts in the photos are for display. The GR701 repaint includes four 140mm fans and an ARGB hub.

  5. EVA-02 PC case on a desk with matching themed keyboards

    Finish the desk around it

A matching keyboard, mouse and headset is what turns a themed case into a full setup. Use the series guides below to find gear from the same collaboration.

Anime PC build FAQ

What is an anime PC build?

It is a gaming PC built around a series or character, usually starting with a themed case and matching accessories. The hardware inside is still a normal PC, so compatibility and cooling matter as much as the artwork.

Do these anime PC cases come with parts?

The Jonsbo MOD 3 and MOD 5 cases are sold as the case only, with no fans or components. The EVA-02 ASUS ROG Hyperion GR701 includes four pre-installed 140mm fans. Parts shown in build photos are for display.

Will my graphics card fit?

On the listings that state it, MOD 3 and MOD 5 cases fit cards up to 400mm long and the GR701 fits cards up to 460mm. Measure your card and check the listing for the exact case before you buy.

Which anime PC case should I choose?

Choose MOD 3 if you want E-ATX support in an open, angular shape, MOD 5 for the most radiator room in the Jonsbo range, and the GR701 for a full tower with fans included. Then pick the series you love.

How long does a themed PC case take to arrive?

These cases are large. The EVA-02 and MOD 3 listings ship by sea freight in 10–40 days, and the GR701 takes 15–60 days. Check the listing for the case you choose.

Are the cases official collaborations?

It varies. Some designs are official collaborations, and others, such as the EVA-02 GR701, are custom themed repaints. Each listing states what you are buying.
