The OPPO Reno6 Pro+ Detective Conan (Case Closed) Limited Edition is a run of 10,000 units, and the back panel is the star. Three manga-style panels show Ran, Shinichi and Conan in halftone dots, and an electrochromic finish switches the back between silver and red, called Silver Bullet and Red Bond. You can change it in system settings, by tapping the back cover or by saying a classic line to the voice assistant. This is a Detective Conan phone that keeps surprising you.
The packaging may be even better for fans of Detective Conan merch. The box is shaped like the Mouri Detective Agency, with Café Poirot on the ground floor, a red awning, shrubs and air-conditioner units, and a tracker dial inside the lid. It holds a red phone case, a mascot charm, a Detective Boys pin, a detective-badge SIM tool and a red bow-tie cable organizer, along with red and blue earphones, charger and cable. The software adds red and blue themes with over 70 redrawn icons, and a puzzle to solve at first startup.
The phone is the standard OPPO Reno 6 Pro+ with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. A Snapdragon 870 runs a 6.55-inch curved AMOLED screen at 90Hz, and the 50MP Sony IMX766 main camera is joined by 16MP ultrawide, 13MP telephoto and 2MP macro lenses. The 4,500 mAh battery charges at 65W. This is the China edition, on sale from July 30, 2021.
