The OPPO Reno Ace 2 Evangelion Limited Edition is a run of 10,000 units that turns the phone into EVA Unit-01. The etched matte purple back has a green diagonal stripe, a black vertical strip reading Evangelion, a 3D relief Unit-01 emblem and metal-green volume and power keys. If you collect Evangelion merch, the presentation is the real draw, and this Evangelion phone was launched as a China-only piece that sold out online soon after opening.
It ships like classified equipment. A one-time sealed kraft box printed with the NERV logo and Top Secret warnings holds a white capsule shaped like an entry plug, marked EVA-01. Twist the lid and the phone slides out on a tray. Inside you find an A.T. Field case in purple and black with green accents, a Lance of Longinus SIM pin, wired earphones with NERV branding, a 65W charger with the NERV logo and warning label, and a USB-C cable in NERV colors. A custom theme adds a Unit-01 lock screen and home screen, redesigned icons and an EVA-style wireless charging animation.
Under the armor is the standard OPPO Reno Ace 2, here with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. A Snapdragon 865 runs a 6.55-inch 90Hz AMOLED screen, and the 48MP main camera is joined by an 8MP ultrawide and two 2MP lenses. The 4,000 mAh battery charges fully in 30 minutes at 65W, or in 56 minutes on a 40W wireless pad, which was sold separately. It went on sale in China on June 1, 2020.
